MCWAS or Muslim Cultural Welfare Association of Sutton was established in 1981 to provide a community centre to the Muslims of Sutton. The Association moved into its current premises in 1996 and the centre was fully refurbished in 2013 with the generous funds from the committed community. The founding member of MCWAS was Lal Hussain MBE (late), sadly he passed away in May 2017, may Allah have mercy on his soul and grant him the highest level in Jannah.
